The Golden Rules of Washing Printed Leggings

1. Always Wash Cold

Cold water (30°C / 86°F or below) is essential for preserving both the print and the elasticity of the spandex. Hot water breaks down spandex fibers and can cause colors to bleed or fade. Cold wash, every time, no exceptions.

2. Turn Them Inside Out

Turning your leggings inside out before washing protects the printed surface from friction against other garments and the washing machine drum. This single step significantly extends the life of the print.

3. Use a Gentle Detergent

Harsh detergents with bleach, optical brighteners, or strong enzymes can damage both the print and the fabric. Use a gentle, color-safe detergent — or one specifically formulated for activewear. Use the recommended amount — more detergent doesn't mean cleaner clothes.

4. Use the Delicate or Gentle Cycle

The gentle cycle uses less agitation, which reduces friction and stress on the fabric and print. Avoid the regular or heavy-duty cycle for printed leggings.

5. Wash With Similar Colors

Wash your printed leggings with other dark or colorful garments, not with whites or light colors. Even well-set dyes can transfer slightly in the wash.

6. Never Use Fabric Softener
