Azalea Couture · Sizes 1X–4X

Our size promise.
Honest. Transparent. Yours.

Most activewear brands post a generic size chart and hope for the best. We're going to tell you exactly how sizing works here — including the part other brands never mention — so you can order with complete confidence.

What we promise

Four commitments we will never compromise on

One: Same price, every size. A 1X and a 4X cost exactly the same at Azalea Couture. We will never introduce a size surcharge. Not for "extra fabric," not for any other reason. This is permanent policy, not a promotion.

Two: Real inch measurements on every listing. Every product lists its actual finished dimensions — waistband height, inseam, rise, and fabric stretch percentage. You compare your body to the garment directly, not to a generic chart built for a different supplier.

Three: High-waist construction as our baseline. Every legging we carry features a high-waist band engineered to stay put. No rolling, no folding, no adjusting mid-workout. That's not a feature — it's the minimum requirement for making it onto this site.

Four: We help you find your size before you spend a penny. If you have any doubt about which size to order, contact us. Send your measurements. We'll advise you based on the specific product you want — not a generic chart. We'd rather spend 10 minutes getting this right than process a return.

We'd rather be honest with you upfront than have you open a package and be disappointed. That's our entire approach to sizing.

The part other brands don't tell you

Why there's no single size chart — and why that's better for you

Here's something most activewear brands won't say out loud:

A single universal size chart cannot accurately represent every legging from every supplier. Different manufacturers cut their patterns differently. A "2X" from one factory may measure 2–3 inches differently at the hip than a "2X" from another. This is true across the entire fashion industry.

Brands that post one generic size chart and apply it to everything are giving you false confidence. You order a 2X, the leggings arrive, and the waistband sits at your hip bones instead of your waist — because the chart was never specific to that garment.

Every product listing on Azalea Couture includes the actual finished measurements of that specific garment. You're comparing yourself to the exact product you're about to order — not a generic industry average. This takes more work on our end. We believe it's the only honest way to sell activewear to plus-size women who've been burned by inaccurate sizing more than anyone.

What this means when you shop

Don't use your usual clothing size as your starting point. Measure yourself today, then compare those measurements directly to the garment measurements on the specific product page. That comparison — your body vs. that specific product — is the only reliable way to find your size.

Step one — always

Measure yourself before you do anything else

Everything on this page depends on knowing your measurements. Use a soft fabric tape measure. Measure in the underwear you'd normally wear to work out. Stand naturally — don't suck in. Have someone else measure you if possible, especially for hips and inseam.

Write these numbers down and keep them handy every time you shop activewear. They're the only numbers that matter.

Natural Waist

The narrowest point of your torso, 1–2 inches above your belly button. Breathe out naturally. Determines where a high-waist band will actually sit on your body.

Hips

Around the fullest part of your hips and seat, 7–9 inches below your natural waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor. The most critical measurement for legging fit.

Inseam

From your crotch seam to the floor, measured barefoot. Critical for leggings — a 30" inseam fits very differently on a 5'2" body vs a 5'8" body.

Bust / Underbust

Around the fullest part of your bust. For bra tops, also measure your underbust directly under your breasts. Both help determine the right bra top size and coverage level.

Step two — for every product

How to read the measurements on each product listing

Once you have your measurements, here's exactly how to use them to find the right size in any product on this site.

1

Open the product page and find the measurements section

Every listing includes a table of finished garment measurements — the actual dimensions of the product itself, not body recommendations. Find the size whose measurements are closest to yours with a little room to move.

2

Compare your inches to the garment — not the size label

If your hip is 50" and the 2X has a finished hip of 52", you have 2" of ease — comfortable and secure. If the finished hip is 49", the legging will be too tight to pull up. Always look at the inches, not the label. A "2X" from one supplier can measure 3–4" differently than a "2X" from another.

3

When you're between sizes — always go up

If your measurements fall between 2X and 3X, order the 3X. Activewear fabric has stretch — a slightly larger size worn with stretch fits better than a size too small that restricts movement. Leggings that are slightly large look intentional. Leggings too small are uncomfortable all day.

4

Check the stretch percentage on the listing

Our listings include the fabric's stretch percentage. A "4-way stretch, 40% stretch" legging accommodates more size variation than a "2-way stretch, 20%" style. Higher stretch = more forgiving fit. Factor this in when choosing between sizes.

5

Still unsure — contact us before you order

Send your measurements and the product link. We'll compare your numbers to that specific garment and tell you exactly which size to order. Free for every customer, every time. We'd always rather help you get it right than process a return.

Things worth knowing

Sizing tips that will save you from a mistake

Your clothing size means nothing here

A 2X from one brand fits like a 3X from another. Ignore labels entirely. Use only your inch measurements against the garment measurements on each listing.

Measure in your workout underwear

The underwear you train in affects your measurements slightly. Take them in what you'd actually wear under leggings — seamless underwear, compression briefs, whatever you use.

Waistband height matters as much as size

A "high-waist" legging from different suppliers can sit anywhere from 2 to 6 inches above the hip. We list exact waistband height on every product. Know this number before ordering.

Inseam is the most overlooked measurement

A full-length legging on a 5'10" frame may fall below the ankle on a 5'2" frame. We list inseam length on every product — especially important if you're petite or tall.

Stretch percentage changes the game

High-stretch fabrics are naturally more forgiving. If you're between sizes, prioritize styles with higher stretch percentages — they'll give a comfortable fit even if the measurements aren't perfect.

Re-measure every few months

Bodies change, especially if you're active. If your body has changed since your last order, take new measurements before ordering. Most overlooked step in activewear sizing.

Product fit guide

How each product type fits differently

Each category of activewear has its own fit logic. Here's what to know before ordering each type.

High-Waist Leggings

Key measurement

Hip circumference and natural waist. Order to your hip — a waistband rolls if the hip is too tight. Always prioritize the hip fit.

Tip: Go up if between sizes. Stretch fabric accommodates a slightly larger waistband.

Bra Tops

Key measurement

Bust and underbust. Order to your bust. If between sizes, go up. Check whether the listing says light, medium, or high support — this affects how compressive the fit runs.

Tip: High-support styles run tighter. Size up if you prefer less compression.

Bike Shorts

Key measurement

Hip and thigh circumference. Shorts that fit at the hip but are too tight at the thigh will ride up. Check both measurements on the listing before ordering.

Tip: If you have fuller thighs relative to hips, go up one size.

Matching Sets

Key measurement

If your top and bottom measurements land in different sizes, order each piece separately. We sell all tops and bottoms individually so you can mix sizes within the same set design.

Tip: Contact us — we'll confirm which sizes to pair so prints align correctly.

Hoodies & Fleeces

Key measurement

Bust and shoulder width. Activewear hoodies are cut for movement and run slightly more generously than fitted tops. Check chest and shoulder measurements on each listing.

Tip: For oversized fit, go up one size. For fitted, use your exact bust measurement.

Capris & Cropped

Key measurement

Hip circumference and inseam. We list the finished inseam on every style so you know exactly where it falls on your body — not just "cropped."

Tip: Petite bodies often find capri styles hit at the perfect calf length.

The Azalea standard

What every listing on this store must include

We hold every product we publish to these standards. If a listing doesn't meet them, it doesn't go live.

Finished garment measurements

Actual inches of the product — waist, hip, inseam, and rise. Not body recommendations.

Stretch percentage listed

Every listing states the fabric's stretch percentage so you know how forgiving the fit will be before ordering.

Waistband height stated

Exact waistband height in inches on every legging — so you know whether it hits at your natural waist or your midriff.

No size surcharge — ever

The price shown is the price paid, whether you order a 1X or a 4X. Always.

Common questions

Sizing questions we get asked most

Why doesn't Azalea have one master size chart?

Because a single size chart applied to every product isn't accurate — and we'd rather be honest with you than give you false confidence. Different suppliers cut their patterns differently. The only reliable measurement is the finished garment measurement on the specific listing you're ordering from. We publish those on every product.

I wear a 2X everywhere else. What should I order here?

Don't use your usual size as your starting point. Take your measurements in inches today, then compare them to the garment measurements on the specific product listing. A "2X" from one brand can measure 3–4 inches differently than a "2X" from another. Your measurements are the only reliable guide.

My waist and hips are different sizes. What do I order?

Order to your largest measurement — almost always the hip for leggings. The waistband has enough stretch to accommodate a smaller waist. If buying a matching set where your top and bottom are different sizes, order each piece separately — we sell them individually for exactly this reason.

What if the product doesn't fit when it arrives?

Please review our returns policy for full details. The best way to avoid this is to contact us before you order — we can compare your measurements to the specific product and advise on size. Our high-stretch fabrics also accommodate more variation than you might expect.

Do you actually stock 4X or is it always sold out?

We stock all sizes including 4X as standard inventory — not a special order, not a waitlist. Available sizes are shown on each product listing. If a size shows as available, it ships with the same timeline as every other size.

Can you help me pick a size before I order?

Yes — and we actively encourage it. Send us your waist, hip, inseam, and bust measurements along with the product you're interested in. We'll compare your numbers to that specific garment and tell you exactly which size to order. Free for every customer, every time.

Not sure about your size?
Ask us. We'll tell you exactly.

Send your measurements and the product you love. We compare them to that specific garment and tell you which size to order — before you spend anything. Free. Always.
